Guangzhou Wanglaoji Health Industry Co, a subsidiary of Guangzhou Pharmaceutical Holdings, opened an international headquarters in Singapore on Monday, with the stated aim of expanding the presence of Chinese herbal tea drinks on the Southeast Asian market.

The Walovi Singapore International Headquarters was launched during an international cooperation forum and a global investment event organized by Guangzhou Pharmaceutical Holdings.

As the international operations center for Wanglaoji, the international headquarters will oversee the company”s brand promotion, channel management and customer service on the overseas market.

According to the company, it will also explore supply chain models such as overseas processing and local bottling to enhance product adaptation efficiency for regional markets, and may branch into global business coordination, industry mergers and acquisitions, cross-border fund management and international talent recruitment, providing systematic support for overseas expansion.

The launch of the headquarters marks an acceleration in Wanglaoji’s efforts to use Singapore as a strategic hub to deepen its presence in the ASEAN market, according to the company.

“As a hub for trade, innovation, and capital in Southeast Asia, Singapore serves as a critical bridgehead for our global market strategy,” said Li Xiaojun, chairman of Guangzhou Pharmaceutical Holdings.

Wanglaoji held a global investment conference in Guangzhou, the capital of Guangdong province, in May, and signed distribution cooperation agreements with partners from 10 countries and regions from Africa, South America and Central Asia.

At the event, Wanglaoji launched its new energy electrolyte drink under its international brand Walovi. The drink is marketed as being made from ingredients such as ginseng and coffee beans and containing no synthetic taurine or artificial caffeine.
