Di pilot wey crash im small plane into Beijing tallest skyscraper last week dey suffer from “chronic insomnia and anxiety” and e do am for “personal reasons”, authorities tok on Thursday.

Di accident lead to di death of di pilot, wey officially dey identified by im surname Liu, and injure 13 odas.

Liu, wey be 66-year-old Beijing resident, na divorced freelancer wey dey live alone, Chaoyang district tok for statement.

Dem add say for inside Liu diary, e bin write am “multiple times say e wan end im life”.

“Di comprehensive investigation conclude say dis na case of endangering public safety caused by personal reasons,” di statement tok.

Officials say dem don discharge one of di pipo wey injure from di hospital.

Videos of di crash for CITIC Tower bin go viral on social media bifor dem remove am comot from di Chinese internet, as authorities investigate wetin many observers see as huge security breach.

Di 109-storey CITIC Tower, wey also dey known as China Zun, dey located just few kilometres from Zhongnanhai, di Communist Party headquarters.

Days afta di crash, at least three aviation firms tell BBC say authorities tell dem to suspend light aircraft operations.

On di afternoon of di crash, Liu bin take off from one airport for Pinggu district and e carry out both accompanying and solo flights, Chaoyang govment statement tok.

“During im solo flight, e deviate from di designated area and lose contact wit di airport, e later hit di high-rise building and die for di scene,” di statement tok.

According to authorities, Liu obtain im sport pilot licence for 2021 and im private pilot licence for 2024.

Di plane e fly last week na two-seat, single-engine Aurora SA60L wey Chinese company – Sunward Aircraft manufacture, according to flight tracking service Flightradar24.
