A 41-year-old Palestinian man alleged to be a leading member of a Hamas network uncovered last month in Cyprus and Crete has been extradited from Indonesia to Cyprus.
The suspect was arrested in Indonesia on Thursday on the basis of an international arrest warrant issued by Cypriot authorities and was extradited the following day.
He is expected to appear before a court on August 6, with proceedings to be held behind closed doors.
Cypriot authorities allege that the 41-year-old invited a 37-year-old compatriot to Indonesia and later arranged for him to receive explosives training in Malaysia.
The 37-year-old was arrested last month at a hotel in Agios Nikolaos, Crete, and has been charged with preparing a terrorist attack against a target linked to Israeli interests in Greece.
