With certain inherent advantages, Mysuru is positioned to become a preferred healthcare destination for patients from across Karnataka and neighbouring States, opined Health Minister Dinesh Gundu Rao.

Addressing a gathering after inaugurating MYHOPE 2026 conference on Mysuru Hospital Operations and Patient Experience organised by Confederation of Indian Industries (CII), Mysuru, on Friday, Mr. Rao noted that Mysuru’s advantages included its quality of life, educational ecosystem, medical institutions, connectivity, tourism potential and favourable living environment.

He said Mysuru possesses all the necessary strengths to emerge as a leading Tier-1 healthcare destination in the country and emphasised the need to further strengthen the city’s healthcare ecosystem through quality infrastructure, skilled medical professionals, technology adoption, and patient-centric healthcare services.

Addressing healthcare leaders, hospital administrators, medical professionals, industry representatives and other stakeholders, the Minister said Government of Karnataka is committed to strengthening the healthcare sector through progressive policies, improved infrastructure, enhanced accessibility, affordability, and quality healthcare delivery.

He stressed the importance of adopting modern technologies, digital healthcare solutions and innovative patient care practices to meet the evolving healthcare needs of citizens.

Further, he noted that healthcare is a highly sensitive and service-oriented sector that requires continuous focus on patient experience, clinical excellence and operational efficiency.

He appreciated the efforts of CII Mysuru in creating a platform that brings together policymakers, healthcare institutions, industry leaders, academia and technology providers to deliberate on emerging opportunities and challenges in the healthcare sector.

He expressed confidence that initiatives such as MYHOPE 2026 would contribute significantly towards strengthening healthcare delivery systems and position Mysuru as a centre of excellence in healthcare, medical education, research and innovation.

The conference was organised under the theme “Transforming Mysuru: From Traditional Care to Global Standards” and witnessed participation from leading hospitals, healthcare professionals, insurance providers, technology experts, academicians and industry representatives from across the region.
