The programme opens on day one with a dedicated Department of Environment Malaysia focus group on water and marine management, led by Ms Mazriah Ayu binti Abu Bakar, Head/Deputy Director at the department.

The afternoon’s Water Pollution Detection & Discharge Response track includes a keynote from Dato Seri Ir Dr Zaini Ujang, Pro Chancellor of the Management and Science University (MSU), alongside sessions on global flood resilience and wastewater visualisation, rapid spatial assessment of wastewater discharge using uncrewed surface vehicles, and rapid detection and response to pollution and discharge incidents.

Day three carries the water programme forward with a Water Governance, Policy & Digital Intelligence track, addressing the use of large language models, retrieval-augmented generation and knowledge graphs to support decision-making for water utilities, current gaps and priorities in Malaysia’s water quality management, and efforts to align Indonesia’s mining water monitoring framework with global stewardship standards.

A parallel Continuous Water Monitoring & Sensing Technologies track covers spectral analysis techniques for heavy metals in water, continuous effluent monitoring using optical sensors, and digital electromagnetic flowmeters for water and wastewater applications.

Day three also features a dedicated Port Symposium, Towards Cleaner, Smarter and Sustainable Ports in Asia, examining how monitoring data, emerging technologies and policy frameworks can support measurable improvements in port performance across the region.

Speakers are drawn from the Department of Environment Malaysia, from technology suppliers including Xylem, ABB and TriOS, and from universities and research bodies including the Management and Science University, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia and Institut Teknologi Bandung.
