This highly anticipated launch is not only a key milestone for the airport but also sets a new standard for luxury and comfort in air travel. With an increasing number of international and domestic flights passing through this rapidly growing hub, the introduction of this state-of-the-art lounge marks a commitment to providing an exceptional experience for passengers. Designed to cater to the diverse needs of travelers, the lounge offers a range of high-end amenities, including spacious rest areas, exclusive private rooms, and modern workspaces, elevating the overall passenger experience and solidifying Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport’s position as a leader in global aviation.

Star Alliance has officially launched its state-of-the-art lounge at Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport (CAN), located in the newly opened Terminal 3. This highly anticipated addition is part of the alliance’s strategic expansion, following the success of its first lounge in Asia, which was introduced in Guangzhou in 2024. The opening of this new lounge marks an important milestone in the alliance’s ongoing efforts to enhance passenger experiences and solidify its presence at one of the fastest-growing international airports in the region.

The lounge, designed to cater to the diverse needs of travelers, offers a host of modern amenities and services. It is part of Star Alliance’s ongoing commitment to provide a premium travel experience to its members, particularly as the alliance continues to expand its footprint in Asia. Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport, a key hub for both domestic and international flights, has experienced rapid growth in recent years, and the opening of the new lounge in Terminal 3 is a testament to the airport’s ambition to continue enhancing its infrastructure to meet the demands of its increasing passenger traffic.

The official ribbon-cutting ceremony for the new lounge was a significant event, attended by notable figures including Ambar Franco, Vice President of Customer Experience at Star Alliance, and Qi Yaoming, Deputy General Manager of Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport. The event also saw the participation of airline representatives, key airport officials, and members of the media, all of whom gathered to celebrate the opening of this new space, which is designed to elevate the travel experience for Star Alliance’s premium passengers.

The lounge in Terminal 3 is tailored to meet the needs of both business and leisure travelers. It features an array of spaces, including quiet zones for rest, comfortable seating areas, private rooms for more intimate settings, and dedicated workspaces for those needing to catch up on business. Additionally, the lounge offers sleep pods for passengers seeking rest before their next flight, as well as a range of dining options. The food menu includes a selection of fresh, balanced dishes with an emphasis on both local Chinese flavors and international cuisine, ensuring that every guest finds something to enjoy.

One of the key highlights of the lounge is its partnership with renowned chefs, further elevating the overall experience. Star Alliance’s collaboration with leading culinary experts ensures that every meal served is of the highest quality, combining innovation with traditional techniques. A dedicated tea experience further ties the lounge to the region’s traditions, with tea masters offering guests a deeper understanding of the cultural and artisanal aspects of tea.

Managed by Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport Business Travel Service Co. Ltd, the Star Alliance lounge aims to elevate the travel experience for international passengers, reinforcing the strong partnership between the airport and the alliance.

“Going forward, we will continue to strengthen strategic coordination with Star Alliance and major airlines, carrying out deeper cooperation in route network expansion, transfer facilitation, and smart travel, to jointly build a better international aviation ecosystem,” said Qi Yaoming, Deputy General Manager of Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport.
