In Hong Kong’s DIY community PCs on Facebook are actively discussing the story One of the users whose computer was completely destroyed during the massive November fire at the Wang Fuk Court residential complex in 2025 shared a photo of the burned-out system unit, which once contained a Ryzen 7 2700X processor, an ASUS motherboard, an RTX 2070 graphics card, 32 gigabytes of memory, and a 1200-watt Seasonic power supply.
The group members sympathized with the situation and began offering to help the fire victim, asking if he needed any components to build a new system. However, the user politely declined the offered hardware, stating that he had already acquired a new computer.
As it turns out, the local computer store Faroll learned that a customer was among those affected by the fire. As a support measure, the store’s management offered him a 50% discount on the purchase of a brand new, powerful system. Thanks to this, the customer was able to build a modern PC with a Ryzen 7 9700X processor, an RTX 5070 Ti graphics card, and 32 GB of DDR5 RAM.
