Two New WBC Middle East Champions Crowned in Dubai on BATL Promotions
Dubai played host to an outstanding night of professional boxing on July 18 as BATL Promotions staged another memorable event at the Meydan Hotel, featuring two World Boxing Council (WBC) Middle East championship contests.
In the co-main championship bouts, two new regional champions were crowned following impressive performances inside the ring.
Ireland’s Glen Lynch claimed the WBC Middle East Super-Welterweight Championship with a composed unanimous decision victory over the battle-tested Indian contender Rohit Choudhry. Lynch controlled the contest with disciplined boxing and consistent scoring to secure the prestigious regional title.
In the evening’s other championship contest, Dubai-based Slovakian Filip Hacko delivered a spectacular performance to capture the WBC Super-Middleweight Championship, stopping India’s Akashdeep Singh with a devastating first-round TKO. The emphatic victory crowned Hacko as the new regional champion in dramatic fashion.
The World Boxing Council congratulates both Glen Lynch and Filip Hacko on their championship victories and welcomes them to the growing list of WBC Middle East titleholders.
The WBC also extends its sincere appreciation to Jamie Cormack and the entire BATL Promotions team for once again delivering a first-class evening of regional championship boxing in Dubai, continuing to provide an outstanding platform for the development of professional boxing throughout the Middle East.
