TEMPO.CO, Jakarta – Indonesian Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka performed the Eid al-Adha 1447 Hijri prayer alongside his son, Jan Ethes Srinarendra, at the Istiqlal Mosque in Jakarta on Wednesday.
As reported by Antara, Gibran arrived at around 6:51 a.m. Western Indonesian Time (WIB), donning a green outfit that matched his son’s attire.
The Eid al-Adha prayer at Istiqlal Mosque commenced at approximately 7:00 a.m. WIB, shortly after the Vice President and his family took their places.
A number of cabinet ministers were also seen performing their prayers at the grand mosque, including Coordinating Minister for Food Zulkifli Hasan, Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture Pratikno, Forestry Minister Raja Juli Antoni, Culture Minister Fadli Zon, and Social Affairs Minister Saifullah Yusuf.

Meanwhile, President Prabowo Subianto was scheduled to observe the Islamic holiday at the Indonesian Embassy (KBRI) in Paris, France.
“President Prabowo is scheduled to perform the Eid al-Adha prayer and meet with the Indonesian diaspora at the Indonesian Embassy in Paris,” Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya stated in a written release received in Jakarta on Tuesday, May 26.
President Prabowo Subianto touched down at Orly Airport in Paris on Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. local time, following a 16-hour flight from Jakarta.
Teddy noted that Prabowo’s arrival in Paris kicks off a series of official state visits originally slated for 2025, which had undergone several postponements.
