Guangzhou (TDI): The Pakistan Consulate General in Guangzhou observed Youm-e-Istehsal, marking the seventh anniversary of India’s revocation of the special status of Jammu and Kashmir.

The event was attended by members of the Chinese community, the Pakistani diaspora and Kashmiris living across southern China.

The ceremony reaffirmed Pakistan’s political, diplomatic and moral support for the people of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) and their right to self-determination under relevant UN Security Council resolutions.

The event began with the recitation of the Holy Quran, followed by a documentary highlighting alleged human rights violations, demographic changes and restrictions in the disputed territory since August 2019.

The Consul General condemned India’s unilateral actions and expressed concern over the security situation, internet restrictions and suppression of political voices in occupied Kashmir.

Messages from President Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar were also read out, reaffirming Pakistan’s continued support for the Kashmir cause.
