Byk held an inauguration ceremony for its new laboratory facilities at the South China New Material Industrial Park in Guangzhou in mid-July 2026. The investment expands the company’s technical service capabilities in southern China and is intended to strengthen application-specific support for local customers. The laboratory space has grown from 150 m² to 280 m², nearly doubling its previous footprint.

The newly equipped facility features a wide range of instruments for testing various coating systems. Currently, the laboratory supports testing of water-borne, solvent-borne, and 100 % systems, as well as analyses in the areas of levelling, rheology, dispersion, and defoaming.

Expanded scope for adhesives, printing inks, and new energy materials

The range of services is set to expand gradually to include additional application areas beyond coatings. According to the company, future areas of support will include adhesives, printing inks, and materials for new energy applications.

Present at the inauguration were Wei Jiang, Head of Sales and Key Account Management for Paint Additives in China, Evan Wu, Director of Byk Asia, and Gang Fei, Business Line Manager for Paint Additives in China.
