Chongqing – Avatr Technology Co., Ltd. and Shenzhen Smartcom Business Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of Huawei, recently signed a strategic cooperation agreement on April 14 to integrate the former’s vehicle sales and post-sales into Huawei’s retail and service network.

It builds on the deepening ties between the two. During Auto Guangzhou 2025, Avatr and Huawei jointly announced they would move from a technology supply partnership to a partnership across the entire smart-vehicle value chain, including user insights, product development, and marketing.

Under the current product roadmap, the two plan to jointly launch 17 new models by 2030, covering sedans, SUVs, and MPVs, including five upgraded models scheduled for release in 2026.

Within Huawei’s Qiankun intelligent driving ecosystem, Avatr has consistently served as the launch platform for new technologies. The L3 highway solution, the HarmonySpace L3 cockpit, and the 896-line LiDAR have all been mass-produced first on Avatr cars.

Smartcom is a wholly owned subsidiary of Huawei, with 22 years of operations in the premium services sector. Its expertise spans premium user experience design, standardized store operations, and service process system development.

Under the agreement, Avatr vehicles will be integrated into Huawei’s offline retail, gaining access to its stores, which populate commercial districts across major Chinese cities. By leveraging this infrastructure, Avatr saves on store construction and operational costs while reaching more potential customers.

On the post-sales side, Smartcom will handle part of the inspection, maintenance, and basic support for Avatr vehicles, filling coverage gaps in Avatr’s network. The two parties will also integrate their membership programs and use data analytics to optimize user acquisition.

Wang Hui, Chairman of Avatr, stated: “Avatr is Huawei’s longest-standing, most broadly engaged, and most deeply integrated strategic partner within Huawei’s entire collaboration ecosystem. Today’s strategic partnership with Smartcom will further refine our service capabilities, the soft power that touches customers directly, and strengthen Avatr’s brand positioning in the premium segment.”

Avatr is a strategic joint venture formed by Changan Automobile, Huawei, and CATL, positioned as a premium smart electric vehicle brand. In this collaboration, Smartcom assumes a role that extends well beyond traditional telecom product retail.
