India’s Pi Data Centers is developing a 23MW data center located in the city of Mumbai on the country’s west coast.
The company announced on Monday that the first phase of the facility will go live in August and offer 3MW of capacity.
Real estate consultancy JLL advised on the data center lease transaction.
Pi Data Centers is headed by CEO Kalyan Muppaneni, who currently serves on the board of Indian server manufacturer Exatron.
Pi currently offers 60MW of capacity through a data center in Amaravati, Andhra Pradesh, and is set to launch a 3MW facility in Hyderabad, Telangana, in October of this year. The company also lists a 3MW data center in Kochi on its website.
Mumbai is one of India’s largest data center hotspots, home to operators including PDG, Equinix, STT, ESR, NTT, and Lumina CloudInfra.
