Abu Dhabi – The United Arab Emirates has welcomed the announcement by U.S. President Donald Trump of a landmark Peace Council agreement to disarm Hamas and other armed groups in the Gaza Strip, part of Trump’s 20‑point plan to end the war in Gaza.

In a statement, the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs described the accord as a significant step toward ending the conflict, strengthening security and stability, and creating the conditions for a sustainable political process.

The ministry expressed appreciation for Trump’s leadership in supporting efforts to reach the deal, while also commending the intensive mediation roles played by Qatar, Egypt, and Turkey in facilitating understandings among the parties.

According to the agreement, the disarmament process will be implemented in phases, accompanied by the withdrawal of Israeli forces, the deployment of an international stabilization mission, and the establishment of a new Palestinian police force to secure Gaza. The UAE voiced hope that these measures will consolidate peace, end civilian suffering, and pave the way for reconstruction.

Reaffirming its consistent position, the UAE underscored its support for all regional and international initiatives aimed at de‑escalation and achieving a just and comprehensive peace.

The statement stressed the urgent need for humanitarian aid to reach Palestinians in Gaza safely and without obstruction, laying the groundwork for a fair and lasting political settlement based on the two‑state solution.
