Katie Price’s husband Lee Andrews shares plans to get her back on the road by getting her a licence in Dubai – despite her seventh driving ban

Katie Price‘s husband Lee Andrews has revealed he plans to get her back on the road by getting her a licence in the UAE, after the glamour model was banned from driving for the seventh time.

The former glamour model, 47, was banned for six months after she ignored police letters about an 80mph speeding ticket.

Her latest offence came after a Ford Capri registered in her name was caught at 80mph on the A64 near Sutton in North Yorkshire.

After she failed to respond to a letter confirming the car was hers, she was convicted of failing to respond to police.

Lee, 41, has insisted Katie will be driving again soon, as she is set to receive a licence from Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority.

The ‘billionaire’ businessman tied the knot with TV star in January just 10 days after meeting, before holding a second, legal ceremony – much to the shock and concern of her fans and family, due to reports of Lee being a scammer.

This month sees moves introduced to make the digital links between the DVLA in the UK and the RTA stronger, which may mean added hurdles to Katie in a bid to obtain a licence.

According to The Sun, if Katie’s licence was issued prior to her driving ban, she could be allowed to drive in Dubai, though she will be legally required to disclose her UK ban to her insurer.

If she failed to disclose the band, she could face to deportation, a fine or jail.

However, if the application was submitted after Katie was banned, and the RTA checks the status of her foreign licenses, it will be rejected.

A spokesperson for Katie was asked whether she’s eligible to drive in Dubai, and they told the publication: ‘I have no idea. It’s something she’ll have to look into.’

Lee went on to claim that Katie will soon receive a Golden Visa through spousal sponsorship, which allows foreign nationals to live and work in the country for a period of five or 10 years.

A key requirement of the visa application process is to provide a marriage certificate attested by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) in the UAE.

When asked if Katie would be eligible to drive in Dubai, a spokesperson said: ‘I have no idea. It’s something she’ll have to look into.’

Daily Mail has contacted a representative for Katie Price for further comment.

Katie was charged with speeding and failing to give information relating to the identification of the driver of a vehicle, court papers show.

Magistrate Claire Sagar, sitting at Harrogate Magistrates’ Court last Tuesday, found Price guilty of failing to respond to a police charge.

She ordered Price to pay a £660 fine, £120 in costs, and a £264 victim surcharge.

In December 2010, Katie was banned for six months after admitting a speeding charge, she was disqualified for a year in 2012 after failing to respond to speeding tickets, and she received another six-month ban in February 2018 after being caught speeding.

In January 2019, she was in court again to admit driving while disqualified, leading to a three-month ban.

And just a month later, she was convicted of being drunk in charge of a vehicle when police witnessed her car veer off the road and hit a grass verge.

Katie claimed that a mystery man had been at the wheel and left the scene before officers arrived, but a judge concluded her evidence was ‘not plausible’.

Later in 2019, Katie was convicted of failing to disclose the name of the driver following a car crash, which led to her receiving an 18-month road ban.

And in 2021, a judge condemned Katie for ‘one of the worst driving records I have ever seen’, as she was given a 16-week suspended prison sentence for drink-driving while disqualified and without insurance.

Katie had flipped her car and told police at the scene: ‘I took drugs, I should not be driving, I admit it all.’

The incident landed her with a two-year driving ban, as well as 100 hours of community service and up to 30 rehabilitation sessions.

‘You appear to think you are above the law,’ District Judge Amanda Kelly told her at the time.

Finally, in 2024, Katie was fined £880 for driving without a licence and insurance in Northamptonshire, but she was spared a ban for those offences.

Katie and Lee’s romance has in the last few days seen the businessman join OnlyFans, despite claiming he was a billionaire, while the reality star has said he has no plans to return to visit him in Dubai for now.

The I’m A Celeb star has said she will instead wait for him to return to the UK, hoping he will fly to the UK to see her soon, as she has ‘done her bit’.

Speaking on her YouTube channel, she detailed her travel plans and navigating her cross-continent marriage to Lee, who has repeatedly denied claims that he is under a travel ban after forging his ex-girlfriend’s signature to secure a £200,000 loan.

Insiders have claimed Lee has left the country, although there has been no solid evidence, while Katie has admitted she ‘hopes’ he will come to her.

Speaking to the camera, she said: ‘Hopefully Lee will be flying to the UK soon. When he can, he’ll come over and just do normal stuff here.

‘I love that I’m back [in the UK]. I’m not going to go to Dubai now for a bit. I’ve done my bit in Dubai and with everything going on there, it’s all quiet and I’ve got things to do back here as well.

‘I still want to sort the house out, work, even though I can work there, I just like being home, everything is here. Where I’ve been in Dubai, it hasn’t even been sunny, it’s been raining.’

She spoke of her trips, saying: ‘When I go to Dubai, I don’t look at it like a holiday, I don’t do all the holiday stuff…

‘People always look at Dubai as pool parties, there are pool parties and you get those sides where it looks rich and people pose with flash cars.

‘But when I go there, it’s not like how you see it on Instagram, I do normal stuff. What I would do here, it’s the same there.’

Andrews’ credibility and personal integrity has taken a battering from all sides following his marriage to Price, with furious ex-girlfriends labelling him a ‘scammer’ and urging the former glamour model to ‘run for the hills.’
