FIBA Champions League Final Four MVP Simonas Lukosius has signed a three-year contract with Dubai, but the Lithuanian forward will remain with Rytas Vilnius on loan for the 2026-27 season.

Rytas Vilnius FIBA Champions League hero Simonas Lukosius has secured the next step in his career.

The 23-year-old forward has signed a three-year contract with Dubai Basketball, but he will not leave Vilnius immediately. Instead, Lukosius is set to spend the 2026-27 season on loan with Rytas Vilnius, according to journalist Andrea Calzoni. BasketNews sources have confirmed the agreement.

The move comes shortly after Lukosius helped Rytas capture the FIBA Champions League title, establishing himself as one of the team’s key contributors during the Final Four in Badalona.

His biggest moment came in the championship game against AEK Athens, where he delivered a breakout performance. Lukosius poured in 23 points in just 23 minutes, catching fire from long range and hitting 7 of his 10 three-point attempts, earning Final Four MVP honors.

While his overall numbers did not jump off the page throughout the season, the Lithuanian wing proved to be an efficient scoring option whenever his number was called.

In FIBA Champions League action, Lukosius averaged 8.3 points, 3.0 rebounds, and 8.0 PIR across 18.5 minutes per game. He shot an impressive 51.6% from three-point range, along with 41.7% on two-pointers and 86.7% from the free-throw line.

The former Final Four MVP also provided valuable depth for Rytas in domestic competition. In the Lithuanian Basketball League, he posted averages of 6.6 points, 2.4 rebounds, and 5.9 efficiency rating while playing 20.5 minutes per game.
