(Sharecast News) – Andy Burnham has promised a series of measures to tackle the cost of living, including a ban on fake discounts and making it easier for people to escape unwanted subscriptions. The crackdown on “rip-off” business practices is expected to benefit consumers to the tune of £400m a year and will be the first in a range of “everyday fixes” to be implemented in the coming months. – Guardian

Nearly a third of British manufacturers have been hit by a cyber-attack on them or a company in their supply chain, according to a survey that highlighted the growing hacking risk to companies. The findings come almost a year after Britain’s largest automotive employer, JLR, was hit by an attack that forced it to halt production for weeks. – Guardian

Harvey Nichols has warned it could collapse without a rescue deal as it scrambles to find a buyer for the business. The luxury department store will cease trading within a year unless it can be sold or it secures an fresh cash injection, newly filed accounts show. Billionaire Larry Ellison has overcome opposition from neighbours to win approval for a new £100m office in Mayfair. Mr Ellison, the co-founder of software company Oracle and an ally of Donald Trump, has won backing from planning officials to construct a new London headquarters for his science institute. The decision represents a blow to nearby Chatham House, which had raised objections. – Telegraph

Heathrow is calling for as much as £9 billion in additional early funding from passengers to help finance its third runway project. The airport’s demands for the vast upfront sum, which are certain to infuriate the airlines, are disclosed in a letter on the UK Civil Aviation Authority’s website from its biggest customer, IAG – the owner of British Airways, Iberia, Vueling and Aer Lingus. – The Times

Lloyds Banking Group is battling two High Court claims over alleged failings in relation to a £1.2 billion lending scam. The claims, which could have broader consequences for how the banking industry works with business customers, have been brought by insolvency practitioners working on the Arena Television collapse. One claim is worth up to £1.1 billion, and another is for £280 million. – The Times
