Addressing more than 300 industry leaders, investors, entrepreneurs, food processing associations and business representatives, Majhi said food processing was not merely another industrial sector but a critical link between farmers’ prosperity, rural transformation and Odisha’s industrial growth.
“Food processing is not merely another industry. It is the bridge between our farmers’ prosperity, rural transformation and Odisha’s industrial future,” Majhi said.
He said every investment in the sector would create value at the farm level, generate employment in rural areas, strengthen exports and contribute to a stronger State economy.
“Odisha is ready to become India’s preferred destination for food processing, and I invite industry to partner with us in this journey,” the Chief Minister said.

The Chief Minister outlined a long-term strategy to position Odisha as a major hub for value-added food manufacturing, focusing on the creation of specialised food processing clusters, expansion of integrated cold-chain and warehousing infrastructure, strengthening of food quality and certification systems, deeper integration of FPOs, MSMEs and women-led SHGs with organised industry, and development of a globally competitive skilled workforce.
Industries, Skill Development and Technical Education Minister Sampad Chandra Swain said the Government was working to unlock the full potential of Odisha’s agricultural and marine resources and establish the State as a globally competitive destination for value-added food processing.
Chief Minister Majhi also held a series of one-on-one meetings with leading industry representatives to discuss project-specific investment opportunities, strategic partnerships and long-term collaboration in food processing and allied sectors.
The event was attended by Chief Secretary Anu Garg, Additional Chief Secretary, Industries Hemant Sharma, senior State Government officials, representatives of ASSOCHAM, and more than 300 industry stakeholders.
