TEMPO.CO, Jakarta – The Indonesian Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries announced that the General Administration of Customs of the People’s Republic of China (GACC) has granted a register number or permit to export fishery products to eight fish processing units on May 11, 2026. As a result, the total number of fish processing units (UPI) that have obtained export permits from China is 638 units. “GACC China, our working partner, has approved the proposal for 8 UPI that we submitted through the bilateral channel Mutual Recognition Arrangement (MRA), allowing these eight UPIs to export fish to China as of 11 May 2026,” said Ishartini, Head of the Quality Control and Supervision Agency for Marine and Fisheries Products, in a written statement on Sunday, May 31, 2026.

The eight new fish processing units that have passed and can immediately start exporting fish to China are PT Duta Mitra Semesta, PT BPH Global Indonesia, CV Daniel Nathania Fishery.

These are followed by PT Bintang Samudera Pratama, PT Ramantha Kawanua Indonesia, PT Marindo Jaya Maros, PT Jaya Mega Samudera, and PT Zhongyi Supply Chain Services.

Ishartini stated that there are currently 1,080 types of fishery commodities exported from Indonesia to China. The volume of exports to China in 2025 reached 491,528 tons with a value of US$1,040,346,614 or around Rp 17.46 trillion. Ten main fishery commodities include Frozen Squid, Eucheuma Cottonii Seaweed, Gracilaria Seaweed, Frozen Ribbon Fish, Eucheuma Cottonii, Dried Eucheuma Cottonii Seaweed, Dried Gracilaria Seaweed, Eucheuma Spinosum, Frozen Leather Jacket Fish, and Frozen Croaker Fish.

Ishartini also called on all business players and stakeholders who have gained access to export to various countries to maintain commitment and consistency in applying sanitation, hygiene standards, and food safety principles both in the production chain and the surrounding environment of their facilities. “This is to maintain the acceptance of products and strengthen international trust to enhance competitiveness,” she said.
