Five additional Australian export beef establishments have been approved to supply Indonesia, with one also cleared to export sheep and goat meat.

The approvals expand market access for Australia’s red meat sector and increase the availability of halal certified products to Indonesia.

Indonesia remains an important market for Australian halal red meat. Beef and veal were Australia’s third largest agricultural export to Indonesia in 2025, valued at $581 million, up 49 per cent since 2022.

The newly approved establishments are located across Queensland, Victoria and Tasmania. The outcome follows engagement between government, industry and Indonesian authorities.

This is the second round of approvals following Indonesian audits of Australian export meat establishments in the past two years, bringing the total number approved since November 2024 to seven.

“The approval of these new establishments is another big win for Australia’s red meat industry which has continued to grow under the Australian Government,” said minister for agriculture, fisheries and forestry Julie Collins.

“These additional establishment listings will mean more high-quality Australian halal meat for Indonesian consumers and more commercial benefits across the Australian meat supply chain including producers and processors.

“The approvals reflect Indonesia’s confidence in Australia’s halal meat production system, reinforcing Australia’s global reputation as a trusted global supplier of halal meat products.”
