Following their relegation from the English Football League (EFL) the club’s owners announced there would be a restructure.
Part of that restructure saw a number of key staff leave the club, but Barrow have now announced their first arrival of the rebuild with the return of a familiar face.
The club statement reads: “Barrrow AFC are delighted to announce the return of Mark Leather as Head of Medical and Sports Science.
“Mark previously oversaw the club’s medical department between 2022 and 2024, a period in which the club recorded its lowest number of injury days on record.
“His role will cover conditioning, rehabilitation, diagnosis, treatment of injured players and aid in the process of the recruitment of players, whilst also helping further strengthen the wider medical and sports science department alongside Liam Welby and Chace Homer.
“Mark returns to the club with a wealth of experience across elite football, having previously worked with clubs including Liverpool, Sunderland, Bolton Wanderers, Preston North End, Burnley and Brighton & Hove Albion.
“Everyone at the club would like to welcome Mark back to Barrow.”
