DKSH : Breaks Ground on Medical Device Distribution Center to Strengthen Thailand’s Healthcare Distribution Infrastructure

Bangkok, Thailand, April 21, 2026 – DKSH Business Unit Healthcare, a strategic healthcare solutions partner and leading provider of Market Expansion Services for pharmaceutical, over-the-counter (OTC), consumer health and medical device companies, has broken ground on its Medical Device Distribution Center (MDDC) in Bangkok, marking the start of construction of a new facility that will strengthen Thailand’s healthcare distribution infrastructure. Targeted for completion in 2027, the modern facility marks a significant investment in Thailand’s healthcare distribution network and reinforces DKSH’s long-term commitment to strengthening the healthcare system through more resilient, efficient, and future-ready supply chain capabilities.

“With our patient-centric approach, the construction of our new Medical Device Distribution Center helps ensure that patients receive the treatments they need, where and when they need them. As healthcare needs evolve, efficient and reliable supply chains play an important role in ensuring timely access to critical medical technologies. This facility will help enhance operational efficiency and support healthcare providers in delivering care to patients across the market contributing to our broader purpose and mission of ‘Enriching People’s Lives by Providing Better Healthcare for All’,” said Khun Vorrapong Surachaikulwattana, Vice President, Supply Chain Management, DKSH Thailand.

Strategically located on Rama 3 Road in Bangkok, the new facility is close to major hospitals and key healthcare institutions, enabling DKSH to ensure strong operational responsiveness, particularly for urgent and surgical cases. Its proximity to central areas, strong connectivity to major transport routes, and accessibility to key healthcare hubs make it well suited for medical device distribution operations which requires both speed and reliability.

The new MDDC is being developed as a long-term capability designed to support the continued demand for medical devices in Thailand, driven largely by an aging population and the increasing need for swift and reliable service response. In combination with more sophisticated service requirements, strong distribution infrastructure plays a critical role in ensuring continuity, efficiency, and dependable access to essential medical products nationwide.

The new facility, which will replace the current MDDC, will be significantly larger and offer a storage capacity of 2,438 cubic meters, effectively doubling the capacity of the existing distribution center. This additional storage capacity, a more efficient workflow layout, and dedicated zones for automation enable DKSH to manage a wider range of products, including large medical equipment. The facility is designed to strengthen supply chain resilience and accommodate increasing order volumes, SKU complexity, and customer demand while maintaining consistent service levels. Its scalable layout and integrated systems also support phased expansion over time, allowing the business to expand without compromising reliability or operational efficiency.

To enhance operational performance and future readiness, the new MDDC will incorporate advanced automation technologies, including “Robot Climb Picking”, an automated solution that supports storage and picking processes from inbound put-away through outbound order fulfilment. These technologies will improve picking accuracy, increase process efficiency, reduce manual handling, and strengthen overall operational reliability, while also supporting sustainability goals.

Today, DKSH Healthcare supports over 10,000 hospitals, clinics and pharmacies nationwide through its distribution network across Thailand. The new facility will serve as a key hub within DKSH’s advanced healthcare distribution infrastructure. At the same time, DKSH has also expanded its medical device logistics footprint with satellite distribution centers across the market.

The facility will operate in compliance with all relevant healthcare and quality standards, including Good Distribution Practice (GDP), PIC/S, WHO GMP/GDP, ISO 9001:2015, ISO 13485:2016, ISO 14001:2015, and ISO 45001:2018.

By investing in future-ready healthcare distribution infrastructure, DKSH continues to strengthen its role as a strategic partner in enabling access to medical technologies, enhancing supply chain reliability and supporting the long-term development of Thailand’s healthcare ecosystem. This groundbreaking also marks a significant milestone during DKSH’s 120th anniversary year of Enriching People’s Lives in Thailand.
