Ambassador of Cambodia to the Republic of Korea, Khuon Phon Ratanak, yesterday received a courtesy call. It held a working discussion with Jung Kyung Hee, Manager of the Korea Food Research Institute (KFRI), at the Cambodian Embassy in Seoul.
During the meeting, Jung updated the Ambassador on the progress of cooperation projects between the Korea Food Research Institute and Cambodia’s Ministry of Industry, Science, Technology and Innovation (MISTI), according to a statement from the embassy.
Since 2018, the two institutions have jointly implemented projects to strengthen the capacities of government officials and small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in food processing. Their collaboration also led to the establishment and inauguration of the Cambodia-Korea Food Processing Centre (TASK) in Cambodia in August 2025.
Jung requested the Embassy’s continued support for the Institute’s ongoing and future cooperation projects with Cambodian public- and private-sector institutions.
The Ambassador expressed his appreciation for the Institute’s contribution to training Cambodian specialists and SMEs. He noted that these efforts would help enhance production capabilities and improve the quality standards of Cambodian products to meet export requirements, particularly for the Korean market. He also reaffirmed the Embassy’s readiness to support and cooperate on the Institute’s future initiatives.
