Qatar Airways A320 touching down on the runway

Qatar Airways has resumed services from Doha to both Zagreb and Belgrade following a suspension of more than three months caused by the conflict in the Middle East. The carrier restarted flights to the Croatian capital yesterday, while services to Belgrade resumed today. For the remainder of the summer season, the airline will operate a reduced schedule of four weekly flights on both routes.

Despite the ongoing geopolitical uncertainty, demand has remained strong, with flights operating at near-full capacity in both directions as the airline returns to the market, although inbound demand from Doha is currently stronger. On today’s Belgrade service, the flight departing Doha was sold out, while the return leg has 128 of 132 seats occupied, leaving just four seats available in economy class. Load factors are expected to remain high over the coming days. On Friday, 129 of 132 seats have been booked on the Doha – Zagreb service, while 130 of 132 seats have been sold on the Doha – Belgrade flight.

In a statement, the airline said, “Qatar Airways continues to deliver on its commitment to network restoration, and is steadily expanding its reach to more than 160 gateways for the ease and convenience of international travellers. Starting today, the airline is returning to 26 destinations in key global markets”. Apart from Zagreb and Belgrade, the airline is restoring service to the likes of Brussels, Budapest, Lisbon, Oslo and Prague this week.
