KUALA LUMPUR: Bursa Malaysia Bhd announced that its director of group technology, Ashish Jaywant Rege, will step down effective July 14 following the expiry of his fixed-term employment contract.

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia today, the exchange operator said it has begun the process of appointing a successor.

Pending the appointment, executive vice-president of applications Tan York Kie will assume the role of acting director of group technology from July 14.

Bursa Malaysia said its board, through the nomination and remuneration committee, had initiated the search for a new group technology director and will announce the appointment in due course.

Ashish, 60, an Indian national, joined Bursa Malaysia as director of group technology on Jan 6, 2020.

He was responsible for overseeing the exchange’s digital infrastructure, cybersecurity operations and core trading systems.
