TEMPO.CO, Jakarta – Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto had a phone call with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas on Monday, June 15, 2026. The call further affirmed Jakarta’s support for the Palestinian people.

“The two leaders discussed the latest developments in the Middle East,” said Foreign Minister Sugiono on social media platform X, as quoted from Antara on Monday.

“President Abbas conveyed his appreciation for Indonesia’s longstanding support for the Palestinian people,” he added.

During the conversation, Sugiono said, President Prabowo also reaffirmed Indonesia’s commitment to continue supporting the Palestinian struggle.

“[Prabowo emphasized] that the Two-State Solution remains the only path toward lasting peace in the region,” the minister said.

Citing Antara, Indonesia’s support for Palestine is demonstrated through consistent international diplomacy, emergency humanitarian aid by sending hospital ships and airlifted logistics, and scholarships for Palestinian students.

This commitment is rooted in Indonesia’s own constitution and the strong historical ties between the two countries.

President Prabowo also voices his support at various international and multilateral forums, including the United Nations, and in his discussions with numerous bilateral partners.
