Uzbekistan and Guangzhou Pharma discuss joint pharma projects
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Abdulla Azizov, Director of Uzbekistan’s Agency for the Development of the Medical and Pharmaceutical Industry, met with the management of Guangzhou Pharma to discuss prospects for expanding cooperation in the pharmaceutical sector.
During the talks, the Uzbek side presented the country’s investment, scientific and industrial potential, as well as opportunities for implementing joint projects.
Representatives of the Chinese company were briefed on the activities of the BioPharma City pharmaceutical cluster, including its infrastructure, production localisation opportunities and government support measures available to investors.
Particular attention was given to the implementation of joint investment and manufacturing projects in the pharmaceutical industry, the development of cooperation in science, education and workforce training, and the exchange of expertise and technologies in the development and production of medicines.
The participants also discussed prospects for cooperation in traditional and folk medicine, joint research in pharmaceuticals, biotechnology and cosmetic products, and the development of medicinal plant resources, including their cultivation, processing and industrial application.
In addition, the parties reviewed opportunities for establishing joint ventures in Uzbekistan and attracting investment for prospective projects.
At the conclusion of the meeting, both sides confirmed their interest in further developing mutually beneficial cooperation and agreed to continue discussions on the preparation and implementation of joint initiatives.
