Khalistani terror threat alert in Delhi and Uttarakhand

Intelligence agencies have raised a security alert for Delhi and Uttarakhand due to an alleged threat from Khalistani terrorists targeting key locations in the near future, sources within the intelligence community confirmed. The alert specifically warns of potential attacks on temples in Delhi and Uttarakhand, along with government establishments, railway stations, and police installations.

The threat was reportedly communicated via an email referencing several temples, government offices, and political leaders as possible targets. Following this, the Uttarakhand Police, Delhi Police, and other intelligence agencies have increased vigilance, reviewing and intensifying security measures at sensitive sites as a precaution.

Authorities are investigating the email to verify its authenticity and identify its origin. Earlier alerts were issued in January around Republic Day, warning of possible attacks by proscribed Khalistani groups and Bangladesh-based terror organisations across New Delhi and other cities. Another alert followed in February concerning a potential terror threat near the Red Fort, with warnings that terrorists might target a temple in the Chandni Chowk area.

Intelligence sources also indicated that key religious sites, including areas near the Red Fort and Chandni Chowk, remain under surveillance due to concerns about Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), a Pakistan-based terror organisation.
