Ten Tesla Owners Sue Over Alleged FSD Misrepresentation in Beijing Court, Seeking ¥3.95 Million-Internet Info Agency

Ten Chinese car owners have filed a lawsuit against Tesla with the Daxing District People’s Court in Beijing, alleging false advertising and consumer fraud, and demanding total compensation of over RMB 3.95 million. The case recently held its first-instance hearing.

The plaintiffs argued that Tesla’s advertised “Full Self-Driving” (FSD) feature has not been approved by Chinese regulators and cannot deliver the core capabilities as claimed. They further accused Tesla of concealing hardware defects and engaging in misleading marketing, constituting fraud. During the hearing, both parties presented evidence and debated whether the FSD system possesses “full self-driving capability.”

Tesla countered that the FSD functionality is either “already implemented” or “partially implemented,” adding that the feature remains under continuous development. As of the conclusion of the hearing, Tesla had not issued any further public response regarding the case.
