Watch Danish and Swedish at European Union Film Festival in Bangkok this week

European Union Film Festival 2026 runs from 18–28 June across Bangkok, Chiang Mai and Phuket, featuring films from EU member states. Photo: EU Delegation to Thailand

The European Union Film Festival is taking place in Thailand from 18-28 June, bringing a selection of films from across Europe to audiences in Bangkok, Chiang Mai and Phuket.

The festival, organised by the European Union Delegation to Thailand together with EU member states features films from a number of European countries.

The programme includes dramas, historical films, documentaries and comedies reflecting the diversity of European cinema and culture.

Nordic films

Denmark and Sweden are both represented in this year’s programme. The Danish film The Last Viking will be screened at House Samyan in Bangkok on Wednesday 24 June at 7:00 PM, followed by the Swedish film Hammarskjöld on Friday 26 June at 5:30 PM.

All films are shown with English and Thai subtitles, and admission is free. Visitors can collect up to two tickets per person at the box office one hour before each screening.

Finland’s contribution, Stormskerry Maja, was screened earlier in the festival.
