(WO) — Indonesia Energy Corporation (IEC) is on schedule to begin drilling its K-29 well at the Kruh Block later this month after completing key rig installation and safety milestones.

The company reported that rig mobilization, lifting operations and safety inspections have been completed, while rig setup is finished and undergoing final internal testing. IEC said the project remains on track for a late-June spud date.

According to the company, function testing is expected to be completed by mid-June, followed by a government inspection by Pertamina EP later in the month.

“We are very pleased with our operational team’s ability to successfully navigate the previously reported and unexpected logistical and industry-wide challenges affecting Indonesia and global markets,” said IEC President Frank Ingriselli. “We are pleased that our operational team has been able to keep on the schedule as reported two weeks ago.”

The K-29 well will be the first of two planned wells in the company’s 2026 Kruh Block drilling program. Following completion of K-29, IEC plans to drill the WK-5 well.

The company said hiring for the drilling campaign is nearing completion, with 98 of 102 required personnel already in place.

IEC has been advancing preparations for the campaign throughout the first half of 2026, including rig mobilization, site construction and equipment installation. The upcoming drilling program is expected to play a key role in evaluating and developing the company’s Kruh Block assets in South Sumatra.

Indonesia Energy is an independent exploration and production company focused on oil and gas assets in Indonesia.
