Kirkland & Ellis has added Wilfred Ho as a partner in its Hong Kong office, strengthening the firm’s restructuring, litigation, and arbitration practice across the Asia-Pacific region. Ho brings more than 15 years of experience at leading international law firms, with a track record of handling some of the most complex and high-value disputes in the region.

Ho joins from White & Case, where he served as a partner in Hong Kong from July 2023. Prior to that, he spent nearly 13 years at Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom, progressing from associate to counsel before his departure in 2023.

His practice spans international arbitration and litigation, with a particular focus on high-stakes disputes involving Chinese, Taiwanese, Japanese, and multinational clients. Representative matters from his career include obtaining a comprehensive victory for the largest travel company in China in proceedings before the Hong Kong International Arbitration Centre, successfully defending a major shareholder in a $2 billion HKIAC arbitration involving a leading Chinese gaming company previously listed on Nasdaq, and advising on a potential international arbitration tied to one of the largest energy projects in the world, with a total project cost of approximately $34 billion. He also represented a major Taiwanese client in a multibillion-dollar trust dispute spanning court proceedings in Hong Kong, Bermuda, the British Virgin Islands, Taiwan, and the United States.

Earlier in his career, Ho served as a research associate at the Federal Court of Australia. He holds a Master of Laws from the University of California, Berkeley, and a Bachelor of Arts in Media and Communications from the University of Melbourne.

KEY QUOTE:

“I’m delighted to announce that I’ve joined Kirkland and Ellis. I’m looking forward to working with my fellow colleagues in restructuring, litigation and arbitration.”

Wilfred Ho, Partner, Kirkland & Ellis
