POLICE have arrested seven people, including two teenage girls, in connection with the armed robbery of a 21-year-old man at a condominium along Jalan Ampang.

Wangsa Maju district police chief Assistant Commissioner Annas Sulaiman said police received a report at 9.02pm on July 31 from the victim, who alleged he had been robbed by four unidentified men armed with a knife while inside a condominium unit.

Following investigations, a team from the Wangsa Maju district police headquarters’ Criminal Investigation Department conducted an operation at about 3am on Aug 1 and arrested five Malaysian men, aged between 22 and 38, along with two Malaysian females, aged 13 and 19, in the parking area of Jalan Metro Pudu.

Police also seized a mobile phone believed to have been taken during the robbery.

“The suspects have been remanded from Aug 1 and are being held at the Jinjang central lock-up.

“The case is being investigated under Sections 395 and 397 of the Penal Code for gang robbery and gang robbery with the use of a weapon,” he said in a statement on Sunday (Aug 2).

ACP Annas urged anyone with information on the case to contact the Wangsa Maju district police headquarters control centre at 03-9289 9222, the Kuala Lumpur police hotline at 03-2115 9999, or the nearest police station to assist in the investigation. – August 2, 2026
