Hong Kong Exchange Second in Global IPO and Secondary Listing Proceeds in First Half of 2026 – News and Statistics

Hong Kong’s stock exchange secured the second-highest global position for funds raised during the first six months of 2026. The combined value of initial public offerings and secondary listings surged 84.3 percent compared to the same period a year earlier, reaching US$26.4 billion.

Of the 84 new listings in that timeframe, companies from mainland China represented 98.5 percent of the total proceeds. Most of these issuers were concentrated in advanced technology and consumer staples sectors.

The five most significant transactions included a semiconductor designer and the largest hog producer on the mainland. One of these major deals involved an electronics manufacturer focused on printed circuit boards and components for smartphones and consumer electronics. This firm initially went public on Shenzhen’s ChiNext board, modeled after Nasdaq, in 2015 and competes in a market segment similar to that of U.S.-listed Jabil. Underwriters for this offering comprised J.P. Morgan, China Securities, GF Securities, ABCI Capital, China International Capital Corporation, and Huatai Financial.

Another prominent deal featured an agricultural conglomerate, also traded in Shenzhen, which ranks as China’s top hog producer by volume. The underwriting was managed by Morgan Stanley, CLSA, Goldman Sachs, CICC, Merrill Lynch, and CMB International.
