Cathay/HSBC Hong Kong Sevens: Australia, Black Ferns on finals collision course

It’s finals day in Hong Kong, and both of last year’s champions are still in with a shot of successfully defending their titles.

For New Zealand, Canada stand in their way of yet another final appearance in the city, while Argentina’s men need to get past Spain.

On the other side of the women’s draw, Australia have been steamrollering all before them, although France should provide tougher opposition than others. In the men’s, South Africa are somehow still alive, but now New Zealand are between them and a first title in the city.

Before all that, we have placement finals and the last group matches in the Melrose Claymores competition, with China needing a hefty win over Japan in the men’s contest to stop Hong Kong reaching the final.

After two action-packed days at Kai Tak Stadium we’re nearing the end of another magnificent Sevens, so stick with us for live coverage of Super Sunday in Hong Kong.
