Abu Dhabi, UAE – The UAE Ministry of Defense announced on Sunday that its air defense systems successfully intercepted two drones launched from Iranian territory. This incident is the latest in a series of ongoing attacks targeting the security and stability of the region.

The Ministry confirmed in its statement that no casualties, injuries, or deaths were recorded in the past 24 hours as a result of this attack. The statement also highlighted the extensive defensive efforts undertaken since the beginning of what it described as “blatant Iranian aggression.” The UAE’s air defenses successfully intercepted and destroyed 551 ballistic missiles, 29 cruise missiles, and 2,265 drones. This demonstrates the effectiveness of the defense system in protecting airspace and vital infrastructure.

Regarding casualties since the start of these attacks, the statement clarified that the total number of martyrs reached two, in addition to a Moroccan civilian contracted with the armed forces. The statistics also recorded the deaths of 10 civilians of Asian and Arab nationalities, including Pakistani, Nepalese, Bangladeshi, Palestinian, Indian, and Egyptian.

Regarding injuries, the total has reached 230 among citizens and residents of more than 30 different nationalities, including Emiratis, Egyptians, Sudanese, and others. The UAE Armed Forces continue to enhance their combat readiness and have reaffirmed their unwavering commitment to protecting the nation’s territory and ensuring the safety of all its inhabitants in the face of escalating regional threats.
