Up to 8,000 Bonus Hyatt Points

World of Hyatt has just launched its summer bonus promotion. If you’re planning a stay in the next few months, this is a great opportunity to earn bonus points.

You’ll earn 2,000 points for every two eligible nights stayed between 1st July and 7th September 2026, with a maximum bonus of 8,000 points. Registration is required and closes on 1st September.

The important thing to note is that your first eligible stay after registering won’t earn any bonus points, though nights do not need to be cumulative and reward nights still count as eligible stays.

You’ll also need to check if your chosen hotel is participating. Mr & Mrs Smith properties, the Venetian Resort, and Homes & Hideaways by World of Hyatt are also eligible if booked direct with Hyatt.

If you’ve been targeted for the current Amex offer, you can combine it with this one. Registered cardholders receive £75 back when spending £300 at participating Hyatt hotels by 19th July, so there is some overlap between the two offers.

Dubai’s £26 billion Airport Takes Shape

Al Maktoum International Airport

Al Maktoum International Airport is in its first phase of development, with the first stage planned to open in 2032. The project has now entered its large-scale construction phase, with work well underway on the runways, passenger terminals and the airport’s main infrastructure.

It’s easy to underestimate the scale of this project. Al Maktoum International Airport will become the biggest airport in the world by capacity. The airport is designed to handle up to 260 million passengers per year when fully complete. When it first opens in 2032, there will be capacity for around 150 million passengers.

There will be five parallel runways, 430 aircraft stands and seven concourses. More than 17,000 concrete piles have already been installed, and over 45 million cubic metres of earth have been excavated. The on-site workforce currently stands at 9,000, but this will increase to 120,000 during the main stages of the build.

Passenger experience is a big focus. You’ll be able to drop off your bags before you reach the terminal and enjoy a largely queue-free journey thanks to biometric technology and AI-powered security. The baggage system will handle thousands of bags per hour, with luggage expected to arrive within minutes of landing. There are also plans for plenty of indoor green spaces.

A 14-station automated people mover will enable easy travel between terminals and concourses. One concourse at Al Maktoum will be equivalent in size to three at the current DXB airport!

The opening of the airport is one of the main pillars of Dubai’s D33 Economic Agenda and plays a major role in Dubai’s global growth and connectivity.
