Emirates has announced that it will be adding four weekly flights between Dubai and Accra starting July 12, 2026, increasing its service to Ghana to 11 times per week.

The additional flights will complement the airline’s existing daily operation, responding to what Emirates describes as sustained demand and high seat occupancy on the route year-round.

New schedule

The new service will operate on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays, using a Boeing 777-300ER.

Flight EK789 will depart Dubai International Airport (DXB) at 03:30 local time, arriving at Kotoka International Airport (ACC) in Accra at 07:40 local time. The return flight, EK790, will depart Accra at 10:25 and arrive in Dubai at 22:40.

The timing is designed to offer connections from Accra to destinations including Beijing, Seoul, Sydney, Perth, Mumbai, Singapore, New York and Jeddah. Travelers heading to Accra will benefit from improved connections via Dubai from cities such as Delhi, Boston and Los Angeles, plus gateways across Germany and the UK.

More than two decades in Ghana

Salem Almana, Emirates’ Country Manager for Ghana, said that the expansion reflects the airline’s confidence in the market.

“For more than two decades, Emirates has proudly connected Ghana to the world,” Almana declared. “Beyond providing greater convenience for our customers, this expansion will strengthen business, tourism, and trade links between Ghana and key markets across our global network.”

With 11 weekly flights, Emirates will offer eight private suites in First Class, 42 lie-flat seats in Business Class, and 304 seats in Economy Class on each departure.

Cargo capacity

The additional flights will also support cargo movements through Emirates SkyCargo. The airline currently transports fresh-cut fruit from Ghana to European destinations such as Prague and Zurich, along with electronics, textiles and pharmaceuticals. The added bellyhold capacity will help connect Ghanaian businesses with customers worldwide.

Tickets are now available on emirates.com, via the Emirates app, and from travel agents.
