Addis Ababa, Ethiopia – Dubai Chambers of Commerce and Industry met with several government agencies and economic institutions in the Ethiopian capital, Addis Ababa,
to discuss ways to enhance trade and investment between Dubai and Ethiopia.
This comes as part of efforts to expand the presence of Emirati companies in African markets.
Strengthening industrial cooperation between the two sides
During a meeting with the Ethiopian Ministry of Industry, the two sides discussed opportunities to develop cooperation in industrial sectors.
They also addressed mechanisms to support partnerships between the private sectors,
which would contribute to increasing the volume of trade and opening new avenues for joint investment.
Attracting investments and developing the investment environment
Dubai Chambers also met with the Ethiopian Investment Authority,
where they discussed opportunities to attract foreign investment and enhance cooperation in priority sectors.
The meeting also highlighted the advantages offered by the business environments
in both Dubai and Ethiopia to international investors and companies.
Long-term partnerships with the sovereign wealth fund
The meetings included one with the Ethiopian Investment Holding Company, Africa’s largest sovereign wealth fund.
During the meeting, the two sides discussed mechanisms for building long-term partnerships
that support economic development and provide new opportunities for companies and investors from both sides.
This comes amid a growing trend toward strengthening economic cooperation between Dubai and African markets.
