Malaysia Aviation Group Posts Profit for Fourth Consecutive Year for Fiscal Year Ending December 2025

Malaysia Aviation Group (MAG) has announced its financial results for the fiscal year ending December 2025, recording an operating profit for the fourth consecutive year.

Revenue came to 14.5 billion Malaysian ringgit, and EBITDA (earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization) was 1.6 billion Malaysian ringgit. Net profit reached 137 million Malaysian ringgit, more than doubling from 54 million in the previous fiscal year.

The number of passengers carried was 18.6 million (up 12% year-on-year), and the load factor was 81% (up 1 point year-on-year). Steady passenger demand and factors such as network optimization contributed to these results. On-time performance was 81% (up 8 points year-on-year).

In its airline business, Malaysia Airlines resumed operations to Paris and Brisbane, and also increased frequencies to Australia, India, the Maldives, and Bangladesh. Firefly launched international services to Krabi, Siem Reap, and Cebu. In December 2025, MASwings was sold to the Sarawak state government in East Malaysia.

In its non-airline businesses, cargo unit MAB Kargo expanded its operating profit, backed by additional capacity and improved fuel and foreign exchange conditions. Ground handling unit AeroDarat Services achieved double-digit revenue growth, while MRO (maintenance, repair and overhaul) unit MAB Engineering Services returned to profitability.
