The United Arab Emirates will establish a Food Cluster in Andhra Pradesh to develop the food processing sector’s value chain, focusing on export markets, officials confirmed.

UAE Minister of Economy and Tourism Abdulla Bin Touq Al Marri met Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu at the State Secretariat to discuss the initiative. The project represents a partnership between the Andhra Pradesh Government and the UAE, as outlined in an official release.

The value chain will support the export of horticultural produce such as mangoes, bananas, cocoa, and other products to international markets.

The UAE’s intention to set up the Food Cluster was initially expressed during Chief Minister Naidu’s visit to Davos earlier this year, where he attended the 56th Annual Meeting of the World Economic Forum from January 19 to January 23, 2026.

During his four-day Davos visit, the Chief Minister engaged with several global leaders and top executives from 15 major companies. He highlighted Andhra Pradesh’s favourable business environment and invited investments across sectors including pharmaceuticals, medical devices, technical textiles, and rail components.

The meeting at the State Secretariat included the UAE delegation, Andhra Pradesh Minister TG Bharath, and senior officials from the Food Processing Department, Industries Department, and the Economic Development Board.

The World Economic Forum’s 2026 meeting convened nearly 3,000 leaders from over 130 countries amidst global economic uncertainty and rapid technological change.
