The BYD Sealion 7 is the best-selling vehicle in Hong Kong in 2025.

New car sales in Hong Kong advance 6% year-on-year in 2025 to 43,308 units. We have a big event atop the brands charts: Chinese BYD replicates its success in the mainland and surges 66.9% to snap the pole position off long term leader Tesla (-4.3%). BYD reaches 22.5% share vs. 14.3% last year while Tesla thaws from 23.5% to 21.2%. Even more impressive: three Chinese newcomers manage to climb into the Full Year Top 5. Zeekr (+327.6%) surges to third place, followed by GAC Aion (+885.9%) and Xpeng (+306.7%). Reversely BMW (-47.7%) and Toyota (-35.5%) freefall.

The BYD Sealion 7 is the best-selling vehicle here with 5,680 units sold, more than all brands bar Tesla.
