Cathay Pacific ordered to submit report after Hungarian fighter jets intercept plane

Hong Kong flag carrier says London-bound flight temporarily lost communication with local air traffic control, but was never in danger.

A Cathay Pacific Airways passenger plane bound for London from Hong Kong was intercepted by Nato fighter jets after it lost communication with air traffic controllers over Romanian airspace. The July 4 incident prompted Hong Kong’s aviation regulator to express “serious concern” and to demand that the city’s flag carrier submit a report.
