French Flyair returns to Menton with Patrouille de France air show

Throughout the weekend, the Esplanade Francis-Palmero will host an aviation village from 2pm to 9pm, with flight simulators, aircraft displays, models and opportunities to meet members of the French Air and Space Force.

A free exhibition will also take place at the Palais de l’Europe, featuring models of iconic aircraft and aviation photography.

Patrouille de France takes to the skies on Sunday

The highlight of the weekend comes on Sunday 30 August from around 3pm, when the air show gets under way above the Baie du Soleil.

The Patrouille de France will return following its appearance in Menton last summer, with its Alpha Jets performing formations and manoeuvres accompanied by their signature tricolour trails.

The programme will also include demonstrations from the French Air and Space Force Aerobatic Team and the civilian Epsilon Team, as well as an appearance by the A400M Atlas military transport aircraft.

Traffic and parking restrictions

Large crowds are once again expected and significant traffic restrictions will be introduced on Sunday.

The Promenade du Soleil will be closed to traffic from 10am to 8pm, between Allée de la BA 943 and the Bastion roundabout, with several surrounding streets also affected.

Parking will be prohibited across a number of areas around the seafront, while additional restrictions will be introduced elsewhere in Menton throughout the weekend.

Spectators are therefore strongly encouraged to travel by train or public transport, particularly those coming from Nice, Monaco or Italy.

Menton station is just a short walk from the seafront.

Maritime restrictions will also be in place during rehearsals and the main display, with swimming and other water activities restricted within the designated aerobatic area.

The programme and timings remain subject to weather conditions and aviation restrictions.
