KUCHING: Sarawak’s state-owned airline AirBorneo Airways today opened ticket sales for its Kuala Lumpur route, marking a key milestone in its efforts to enhance air connectivity between the state and Peninsular Malaysia.

In a statement, the airline said the new service will operate twice daily between Kuching International Airport and Kuala Lumpur International Airport Terminal 1.

To mark the launch, AirBorneo is offering its “Sarawakku Sayang” fares from RM375 all-in for a one-way Economy Class ticket and RM736 all-in for a one-way Business Class ticket, inclusive of airport taxes and fuel surcharges.

Bookings open on Tuesday (July 7), with travel commencing on July 20. Tickets are available exclusively through the airline’s official website and AirBorneo mobile application.

The airline said sales through its official booking channels would provide customers with verified fares, transparent pricing, secure transactions, direct customer support and real-time booking updates.

AirBorneo chief executive officer Megat Ardian Wira Mohd Aminuddin said the opening of ticket sales for the Kuala Lumpur route represented an important step in the airline’s growth journey as it worked to strengthen Sarawak’s links with the rest of Malaysia and beyond.

“Kuala Lumpur is a strategic gateway that expands access to wider domestic and international destinations, creating greater opportunities for tourism, trade, investment and business.

“As Sarawak’s airline, we are committed to connecting people, businesses and opportunities through safe, reliable and affordable air travel,” he said.

He said the introduction of the “Sarawakku Sayang” fares reflected the airline’s commitment to making air travel more accessible while supporting Sarawak’s goals in connectivity, tourism and sustainable economic growth.

The inaugural commercial service on July 20 will operate on the Kuala Lumpur-Kuching route, with 100 seats available for public booking.
