On June 1, 2026, at Crowne Plaza Shanghai Nanjing Road in Shanghai, China, Airports Corporation of Vietnam (ACV) hosted and coordinated the “Vietnam–China Aviation and Tourism Connectivity Program”, bringing together representatives from government agencies, local authorities, aviation and tourism enterprises, and business partners from both countries.
The ACV delegation was led by Mr. Nguyen Cao Cuong, Deputy Chief Executive Officer of ACV, and included leaders from Tan Son Nhat International Airport, Long Thanh International Airport, Cat Bi International Airport, Dong Hoi Airport, Phu Bai International Airport, Can Tho International Airport, as well as representatives from ACV’s functional departments and member units. The event was also attended by the Consul General of Vietnam in Shanghai, together with representatives from local departments and agencies responsible for investment, trade and tourism promotion. On the Chinese side, the program attracted participation from Vietnam Airlines’ China Branch, leading travel agencies, and major charter flight operators in the market.
The program was organized to provide a platform for local authorities, businesses and partners from both countries to exchange information, share development strategies, and explore cooperation opportunities in aviation, tourism, trade and investment. At the same time, it served as an opportunity to showcase the potential and strengths of Vietnamese localities to Chinese businesses and partners, thereby expanding connectivity networks and promoting substantive cooperation in the years ahead.
During the program, delegates discussed development trends in the Vietnam–China aviation and tourism markets, assessed the potential for greater connectivity among localities, and explored opportunities to expand exchanges and cooperation between the two countries. Many participants noted that, alongside the strong recovery of international tourism, this is an opportune time to strengthen promotional, marketing and connectivity activities, creating new momentum for economic, trade and tourism development.
Representatives of Vietnamese localities highlighted their unique strengths in culture, tourism, investment and trade, while promoting destination brands, signature tourism products and future development plans. The presentations generated considerable interest among Chinese businesses and partners, opening up new opportunities for cooperation in tourism, trade, investment and inter-locality collaboration between the two countries.
In addition to destination promotion, ACV and its member airports introduced Vietnam’s modern airport infrastructure system, operational capabilities, and capacity to meet growing market demand in the coming years. In particular, Long Thanh International Airport was presented as a key national infrastructure project that is expected to become a major driver of international connectivity, enhance the competitiveness of Vietnam’s aviation sector, and create new development opportunities for localities across the country.
As the operator and manager of Vietnam’s national airport system, ACV continues to strengthen its role as a bridge connecting aviation infrastructure with economic development, tourism growth and international integration. Through close collaboration with local authorities, airlines and partners in promotional, networking and destination-marketing activities, ACV not only contributes to improving the efficiency of airport operations but also helps drive socio-economic development, expand international cooperation opportunities and foster people-to-people exchanges.
The “Vietnam–China Aviation and Tourism Connectivity Program” reaffirmed ACV’s commitment to working alongside local authorities and partners to promote comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and China.
