KUALA LUMPUR, May 8 — Jalan Bukit Bintang will be closed from midnight tonight until 5am tomorrow to make way for the Quranic Madani “Night Reset: Bersatu Dalam Saf @ Bukit Bintang” programme in front of Pavilion Kuala Lumpur, aimed at ensuring the smooth running of the event and public safety.

Kuala Lumpur Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department (JSPT) chief ACP Mohd Zamzuri Mohd Isa said the programme is scheduled to take place from 8.30pm to 11pm tonight.

“To ensure the smooth running of the programme and the safety of road users, several road closures and diversions will be carried out in stages according to current requirements throughout the event,” he said in a statement today.

He said the affected roads would be reopened in stages after the programme ends, subject to traffic conditions and the current situation at the location.

“In this regard, the public is advised to avoid using the affected routes and to plan their journeys in advance by using suitable alternative routes,” he said.

He said motorists are also encouraged to use public transportation such as the LRT, MRT, Monorail or e-hailing services to help reduce traffic congestion in the city centre.

He also reminded the public to comply with instructions issued by traffic police personnel on duty at the location and to practise courteous driving and remain patient throughout the road closure period.

Any enquiries or further information regarding the programme and the affected routes can be obtained by contacting the Tun H.S. Lee Traffic Police Station at 03-2071 9999 or any nearby police station. — Bernama
