The Libyan Iron and Steel Company has discussed with the Export Development Authority a proposal to establish a factory for fishing trawlers, a step aimed at supporting maritime industries and localizing production within the country.
This came during a meeting Wednesday between the head of the Export Development Authority, Mohamed Al-Hanqari, and Chairman of Iron & Steel Plant, Mohamed Al-Faqih, when they discussed a number of issues of common interest, within the framework of efforts to diversify the national economy and strengthen complementary industries.
On the sidelines of the meeting, the delegation conducted a field visit to the company’s port, during which they were briefed on the operational capabilities and the port’s role in supporting import and export operations and serving industrial activities.
