Parliamentary Dialogue – India & Sweden

In the context of India’s Chairship of International IDEA in 2026, a high-level parliamentary dialogue between India and Sweden will be hosted to promote meaningful exchange on democratic governance and legislative practice. 

The dialogue will bring together Honourable Shri Kiren Rijiju, Indian Minister of Parliamentary Affairs and Minister of Minority Affairs, and Dr Andreas Norlén, Speaker of the Swedish Parliament, to share perspectives grounded in their respective democratic traditions and institutional experiences, to strengthen mutual learning and cooperation between the two Member States. 

This dialogue will serve as a platform for constructive engagement and the strengthening of institutional ties between India and Sweden.
