Norway’s offshore vessel owner Eidesvik Offshore has strengthened its relationship with Aker BP, a compatriot oil and gas player, through a new deal, which enables one of its platform supply vessels (PSVs) to secure a long-term assignment with the Norwegian operator.

Eidesvik Offshore has entered into a frame agreement with Aker BP for the provision of a PSV, which has a duration of four years and comes with an option of two additional periods of two years each.

The new deal, which continues the strategic collaboration between the two companies that was first established in 2019, allows the Norwegian vessel owner to get a three-year firm contract with further options for extensions for the 2012-built PSV Viking Prince.

Helga Cotgrove, CEO of Eidesvik, emphasized: “We are very pleased to continue our close collaboration with Aker BP. The new frame agreement builds on several years of consistent, safe and high-quality performance from both crew and vessels.

“It is in line with our strategy to secure long-term backlog with strong counterparties, and it builds shareholder value.”

The assignment is set to begin in direct continuation of the vessel’s current contract. The PSV was upgraded with a battery hybrid system and a shore power system in January 2022.

This deal comes weeks after Eidesvik obtained an extension for another vessel, which is working for Equinor on the Norwegian Continental Shelf (NCS).
